NCBW Message Regarding Michael Brown‏

My Dear Coalition Sisters:

My heart continues to be heavy as I pen this letter to you.  Our communities across the United States have once again been rocked by yet another senseless killing of a young black man, 19-year old, Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.  The list of names, faces and families in mourning grows longer, representing a persistent ill that has plagued the African-American community for far too long—death at the hands of police, security officers and vigilantes.

I know that all members of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women are lifting prayers for the parents, family members and friends of Michael Brown and we continue to pray for the strength and inner peace for the parents, family members and friends of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Sean Bell, Ariston Walters, Romarely Graham, Kendree McDade, Renisha McBride, Johnathan Ferrell and all of the others senselessly killed in similar situations.
